Sculptor Viktorija Pelse (born 1936 in Moscow) has graduated sculpture
department in 1967 in Latvia Art Academy. Viktorija Pelse works with
different materials: bronze, marble, china, chamotte, plaster. Artist
makes torsos, nude figures and animalias most of all. Viktorija Pelse
has made monumental works (her diploma work "Lepoards" (1967), made in
plaster, in Viesturdarzs, Riga) and also small size works. Viktorija
Pelse`s works characterize plastic extent, contrast between smooth and
facturated surface, pictorials nexus with nature.
"Working at my sculptures I try to find harmony in myself, in the
sculpture, in society, in what we call the surroundings, and harmony in
the interrelationship of all the above mentioned phenomena", says
